What is Der Bussard SI?
Der Bussard SI is an AI chat by the online magazine Der Bussard (https://derbussard.com). It answers questions solely on the basis of articles published on derbussard.com (currently more than 550 articles in German and English) and lists the articles it relies on below each answer.
“SI” stands, tongue in cheek, for “Super Intelligence”. In reality it is a language model that only knows Der Bussard’s articles and can still get things wrong. (And yes, .si is actually Slovenia’s country domain.)
You are talking to an AI
Answers are generated fully automatically by an AI system and are not reviewed by humans before they are shown. They are not editorial content of the magazine. The content of the linked original articles always prevails.
What the chat can and cannot do
- It only answers questions that can be answered from Der Bussard’s articles and declines other topics.
- It does not give medical, legal, financial or psychological advice.
- It knows nothing about current events that are not covered in the articles.
- Please do not enter personal data (e.g. names, contact details, health information) about yourself or others. The chat does not need it.
- The starter questions below the input field (and “Surprise me”) come from a list we compiled of questions that Der Bussard’s articles cover. The follow-up suggestions below an answer, by contrast, are generated by the AI from the article excerpts it found.
- It may summarise content incorrectly, mix up facts or invent details (“hallucinations”). Please check important information, especially statements about people, dates and quotes, in the linked article.

Der Bussard SI is an independent project by Simon Tritschler. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google or Cloudflare. “Gemma” is a product name of Google.
Liability
We make every effort to keep the chat close to the published articles. Due to the way AI systems work, however, we cannot guarantee that answers are correct, complete or up to date. Do not rely solely on a chat answer for important decisions; refer to the linked articles and, where appropriate, professional advice.
Use is free of charge. We are liable in accordance with the statutory provisions. In particular, liability for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health remains unaffected.
The notes on derbussard.com apply to the content of the linked articles. The operators of external websites referred to in articles are responsible for their content.

We review every report and correct the chat or the underlying articles as quickly as possible.

Rules of use
Please do not try to manipulate the chat (e.g. with instructions to bypass its rules), query it automatically in bulk or make it produce unlawful content. A maximum of 30 questions per hour is possible per connection.
